안녕하세요~! 오늘은 어제에 이어 사무엘상 26장에 있는 말씀의 내용을 살펴보겠습니다.

어제 24장에서 사울이 다윗을 축복하며 집으로 돌아갔었는데, 아니 이게 웬일입니까? 

26장을 읽는데 이게 무슨 똑같은 situation인가?? 내가 24장을 다시 읽고 있는 건가? 하는 생각이 들더군요.

 

Abishai said, “This is the moment! God has put your enemy in your grasp. Let me nail him to the ground with his spear. One hit will do it, believe me; I won’t need a second!” But David said to Abishai, “Don’t you dare hurt him! Who could lay a hand on God’s anointed and even think of getting away with it?” He went on, “As God lives, either God will strike him, or his time will come and he’ll die in bed, or he’ll fall in battle, but God forbid that I should lay a finger on God’s anointed. Now, grab the spear at his head and the water jug and let’s get out of here.” David took the spear and water jug that were right beside Saul’s head, and they slipped away. Not a soul saw. Not a soul knew. No one woke up! They all slept through the whole thing. A blanket of deep sleep from God had fallen on them. Then David went across to the opposite hill and stood far away on the top of the mountain. With this safe distance between them, he shouted across to the army and Abner son of Ner, “Hey, Abner! How long do I have to wait for you to wake up and answer me?” Abner said, “Who’s calling?”

By now, Saul had recognized David’s voice and said, “Is that you, my son David?” David said, “Yes, it’s me, O King, my master. Why are you after me, hunting me down? What have I done? What crime have I committed? Oh, my master, my king, listen to this from your servant: If God has stirred you up against me, then I gladly offer my life as a sacrifice. But if it’s men who have done it, let them be banished from God’s presence! They’ve expelled me from my rightful place in God ’s heritage, sneering, ‘Out of here! Go get a job with some other god!’ But you’re not getting rid of me that easily; you’ll not separate me from God in life or death. The absurdity! The king of Israel obsessed with a single flea! Hunting me down—a mere partridge—out in the hills!” Saul confessed, “I’ve sinned! Oh, come back, my dear son David! I won’t hurt you anymore. You’ve honored me this day, treating my life as most precious. And I’ve acted the fool—a moral dunce, a real clown.” David answered, “See what I have here? The king’s spear. Let one of your servants come and get it. It’s God’s business to decide what to do with each of us in regard to what’s right and who’s loyal. God put your life in my hands today, but I wasn’t willing to lift a finger against God ’s anointed. Just as I honored your life today, may God honor my life and rescue me from all trouble.” Saul said to David, “Bless you, dear son David! Yes, do what you have to do! And, yes, succeed in all you attempt!” Then David went on his way, and Saul went home.

사울은 다윗을 다시 찾아 죽이려 광야에 나타납니다. -_-;

24장에서 다윗을 아들이라 부르고 축복하며 가더니, 다시 마음이 요동했는지 다른 사람의 밀고로 다윗을 추격했습니다.

다윗은 사울이 진을 찬곳에 아비새와 정탐하러가 잠든 사울을 죽일 기회를 갖게 됩니다. 아비새 Abishai가 잠든 사울을 죽이자 했지만 다윗은 다시 하나님께 기름부은 God's anointed 사울을 죽일 수 없다(God forbid that I should lay a finger on: to touch or hit)고 해요. 여전한 다윗이네요. 그래서 사울을 죽이지 않고 사울의 창 spear과 물병 water jug을 갖고 나오죠. 그리고 아브넬 Abner을 불러 왕을 지키지 못한 것을 책망하죠. 

Saul: Is that you, my son David?
그리곤 뉘우치고...
Saul confessed, I've sinned! I won't hurt you anymore. You've hornored me.
지난번에도 뉘우친 것 같더니 같은 상황이 반복된 거죠.

 

사울은 다윗의 목소리를 듣고 또 자신을 살려줬다는 것을 깨닫고 다윗을 '내 아들아 my son'라고 부릅니다. 

지난번 살려줬을 때도 그러더니 같은 반응이죠? 그의 고백은 광야의 굴에서 다윗이 살려줬을 때도 했던 말입니다. 그는 눈물을 흘리며 다윗을 축복하기까지 했지만, 변화된 것이 전혀 없습니다. 

과거에 모습에서 돌아서서 변화된 열매 맺은 삶이 있어야 하는데, 다시 죄를 짓고 말았죠.

죄의 고백에 이어 변화된 열매 맺음이 없는 사울, 우리의 현재 모습과 같진 않은가요?

그 말을 듣고 하나님의 사람 다윗이 멋지게 말하죠.

It’s God’s business to decide what to do with each of us in regard to 
what’s right and who’s loyal.

 

사울의 행보를 돌아보며, 말씀을 들었을 때 깨달음을 얻었다한들 변화된 삶으로 이어지지 않는 죄악 된 우리의 현주소를 들여다보게 하네요. 혹시 다윗의 멋짐만 보이고, 사울이 반복하고 있는 죄의 모습은 놓치진 않으셨는지요? 

사울을 보고, 많은 것을 알고 깨달았다 한들, 변화한 모습으로 삶에서 살아내지 못한다면 무슨 소용일까요?

#refuse는 찾아보셨을까요?

성경에서 많이 나오는 표현이죠. 

시편 91:2절

MSG: God, you're my refuge. I trust in you and I'm safe!

ESV: My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.

 

#forbid는 그럼 무슨 뜻인지 각자 유추해서 한번 생각해 볼까요?

 

오늘은 사무엘상 26장을 살펴보았어요. 혹시 이해가 잘 안돼 신다 하더라도(저도 이해 못하고 넘어가고 있는 중..-0-) 영어 본문을 하나하나 다 직역직독하시기 보다 일단은 주룩주룩 읽어나가시길 권해드리고 싶어요. 좀 이해안되는 부분, 모르는 단어가 있더라도 계속 마주치다보면 문장이 친숙해지고 느낌상? 유추가 되기도 하거든요. 너무 정확하게 구체적으로 알려고 하면 계속 읽어나가기가 어려워 너무 일이 되면, 지속하기가 어려우니까~;; 물론 각자에게 맞는 방법을 찾으시면 되겠지만요! 

오늘 사무엘상 26장에서 본 내용처럼 사람을 의지하는 조급한 사울이 아닌, 하나님의 말씀을 의지하여 미래에 대한 확신이 있는 다윗을 닮아가는 여러분이 되시길 축복합니다!
