하나님께서 다윗과 맺으신 언약

 

King David went in, took his place before God, 

and prayed: “Who am I, my Master God , 

and what is my family, 

that you have brought me to this place in life? 

But that’s nothing compared to what’s coming, 

for you’ve also spoken of my family 

far into the future, 

given me a glimpse into tomorrow, 

my Master God ! 

What can I possibly say in the face of all this?

 You know me, Master God , just as I am. 

You’ve done all this not 

because of who I am 

but because of who you are

—out of your very heart!—

but you’ve let me in on it.
2 Samuel 7:18

 

“This is what makes you so great, 

Master God!

There is none like you, no God but you, 

nothing to compare with 

what we’ve heard with our own ears. 

And who is like your people, like Israel,

 a nation unique in the earth, 

whom God set out to redeem for himself

 (and became most famous for it), 

performing great and fearsome acts, 

throwing out nations 

and their gods left and right as you saved 

your people from Egypt?

 You established for yourself a people—

your very own Israel!

—your people permanently. 

And you, God , became their God.
2 Samuel 7:22

 

“And now, Master God, being the God you are, 

speaking sure words as you do, 

and having just said 

this wonderful thing to me, please, 

just one more thing: Bless my family; 

keep your eye on them always. 

You’ve already as much as said that you would, 

Master God !

Oh, may your blessing be on 

my family permanently!”
2 Samuel 7:28

 

다윗이 자기는 이제 멋진 궁에 편히 사는데 하나님 궤는 장막에 있다하며 하나님께 집을 지어드리려는 기특한 생각을 해냈지요.(2장) 그런데 하나님께서 내가 언제 집에 사냐며 집 됐다고, 내가 언제 집을 지어주지 않냐고 하더냐. 하며 거절하셨어요.(7절)다윗이 하나님을 위할(?) 마음이었는데 하나님은 자신이 다윗을 위해 하신일을 말씀해 주십니다.(8-11절) 네가 나를 위하는 게 아니라 내가 너를 위하는 거란 메세지인걸까요.하나님께서 다윗에게 되려 집을 지어 주겠다고 하나님 사랑을 거두지 않고 네 집안과 네 나라가 영원히 안전할 것(12-16절)이라고 말씀하십니다.

 

내가 호의로 마음을 가지고 베풀려 했는데 우리는 호의가 거절당하면 마음이 확 상하는 경우가 있는데 다윗은 그렇지 않았나봐요. 다윗은 오히려 감사하고 하나님을 찬양합니다. 자기의 생각과는 다르지만 하나님의 응답이 자신을 향한 더 큰 은혜라고 받아들일 줄 아는 분별있는 믿음, 역시 믿음의 조상 다윗입니다. 하나님의 계획은 우리의 생각과 견줄수 없이 크고 놀라우시다는 걸 놓치지 않고 있었네요. 우리는 그럴 수 있을까요? 내 뜻대로 되지 않는 것이, 나의 생각과 다르신 하나님을 이해할 수 없는 거라 생각하고 있진 않는가요. 나보다 더 크시고 놀라우신 하나님의 계획을 내 머리론 이해할 수 없다는 생각을 늘 하고 있어야 겠습니다.

 

7장은 하나님의 지어주실 집, 자신의 가족 후손, 하나님이 영원히 만들어가실 나라를 위해 다윗이 기도하며 끝납니다. 다윗에게 평안한 때가 찾아왔는데 그는 평안한 때에도 하나님을 기억했습니다.우리는, 나는 평안할 때 하나님을 찾기보다 걱정거리가 있고 염려가 되고 힘들 때 하나님앞에 나아갑니다. 평안할 때가 우리 마음을 조심할 때입니다. 하나님 앞에 나아가 기도하고 내 간구가 거절당해도 하나님의 놀라운 계획하심이 내 삶에 있다는 것을 믿어 의심치 않아야 겠습니다.

 

멋진 다윗의 말을 다시금 새기고 싶네요.

 

You've done all this not because of who I am but because of who you are
ㅡout of your very heart!ㅡbut you've let me in on it.

 

This is what makes you so great, Master GOD! There is none like you, no God but you,
nothing to compare with what we've heard with our own ears.

 

 

다윗과 같은 이런 멋진 고백이 나의 입술의 고백, 여러분의 고백이 되기를!
